As we arrived, the American Flags lined both sides of Armory
Street and soldiers still dressed in their fatigues were
beginning to grab their gear and their loved ones.
Everywhere you looked, someone was being hugged, smiles and
looks of pride and admiration were on everyone's faces.
"It was a glorious day to have our troops back home!", said a
Patriot Guard who escorted the soldiers from Huntsville
International Airport to the National Guard Armory, "they (the
soldiers) arrived in Huntsville around 9:AM, we were not at the
Airport until 11:30AM, they were ready to come home!"
A reception is planned for the 203rd at the Alabama Veterans
Museum and Archives on July 31st. Museum Director Sandy Thompson
said, "we want to give everyone some time to be with their
families and friends before having the reception."
