Learn to Read Council of Athens and Limestone County

Learn-To-Read is a non-profit organization that offers several programs for children ages 6-15 and adults of all ages. One program Learn-To-Read offers is the After-School Tutoring Program (ASTP) for children ages 6-15 who are struggling with reading and mathematics at school. Additionally, Learn-To-Read conducts classes on English as a Second Language (ESL).

Chief Floyd Johnson leads a department of 46 sworn officers, up to 20 reserve officers, 7 dispatchers, and 3 administrative staff.
