Swan Park Greenway, Walk-Trail

Park at the far side of the SportsPlex, then you will see the covered bridge. This beautiful bridge was a gift to the city from a local business. The placement of the covered bridge is to accommodate foot traffic to safely cross under Highway 251 and continue on the trail.

The marked path for bikes is an excellent incentive for those to enjoy nature and exercise. Swan Creek meanders along side of the walk paths and the bridges until an opening appears, it reads "BIG KMART". That's your signal the "trail" is over and the graveled trail begins.

You can always turn around and go back to the SportsPlex or continue and walk around Athens High School, the Athens Recreation Center & back to the baseball fields by the trail, this would add another 1.5 miles to your walk.

How ever you choose to go, I encourage all to take advantage of this well constructed, well laid out, (did I mention free!) area. 

With the seasons changing, do not miss enjoying the offerings of the Swan Park Greenway.
